The Audi Prologue Avant concept has been officially unveiled ahead of its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show.

Described as “a design with dynamic elegance and the latest high end technologies”, the Prologue Avant is essentially a sleek wagon interpretation of the Audi Prologue that made its debut at the 2014 Los Angeles Motor Show.

The car will preview Audi’s future styling direction and measures 5.11m long, 1.97m wide. It features the latest interpretation of Audi’s single frame grille, flanked by a pair of Matrix Laser headlights and aggressive air intakes.

Its uncluttered profile is partly thanks to the absence of door handles, replaced with discreet sensors that are integrated into the aluminium window surrounds. At the back, the car sports slimline three dimensional taillights and a roof mounted spoiler. Rounding off the exterior styling are a set of 22-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, the driver and the passengers are digitally connected with one another. The continuously front of the dashboard is consist of three OLED touch displays, a major part of the control and communication between the driver and the co-driver, as well as passengers in the rear.

The Prologue Avant concept is powered by a plug-in hybrid system consists of a 3.0-litre TDI engine, an electric motor and a 14.1 kWh lithium-ion battery. Together, they produce a combined output of 335kW (455PS) and 750Nm of torque sent to all four wheels via an 8-speed transmission.

It will propel the car from 0-100km/h in 5.1 seconds, en route to a top speed of 250km/h while returning an impressive 1.6L/100km. Audi claims the car has a pure electric range of 54km. Its chassis is equipped with adaptive air suspension and dynamic all-wheel steering system, the latter which turn the rear wheels for up to 5 degrees for better handling and stability. The 20-inch disc brakes are made from carbon fibre ceramics.
