Audi MY14 A4, A5: price cut and new quattro models

The Audi A4 and A5 model now boasts new engines, more standard equipment and revised option packages as part of the Model Year 2014 update and Audi’s global ‘Land of quattro’ brand campaign,that highlights the brand’s unique all-wheel-drive technology.

The stars of the new A4 sedan and A5 Coupe, Sportback and Cabriolet range are the four-cylinder quattro models.

The 2.0 TFSI petrol quattro models feature a heavily revised 165kW (up 10kW) and 350Nm engine with direct and indirect fuel injection, for dynamic, and even more efficient, driving.

The fastest and most efficient 2.0 TFSI quattro A5 variant, the Coupe, sprints to 100km/h in just 6.4 seconds (0.1sec faster), sipping just 6.7 litres per 100km (down 0.3L/100km).

An all-new model in the A5 Coupe and Sportback range is a 2.0 TDI quattro, with 130 kW and a strong 380Nm of torque. It will reach 100km/h from rest in 7.8 seconds, while using 5.3 litres per 100km.

Both the 2.0 TDI and 2.0 TFSI A5 Coupe and Sportback quattro models are priced at $75,700, plus on-road costs. Standard features include:

• Parking system plus with rear camera (new addition)
• 18-inch alloy wheels
• Xenon headlights
• MMI Navigation plus with 20GB hard drive and full voice control
• Convenience key

The A4 sedan range now also features the same new 2.0 TFSI and 2.0 TDI quattro models, with the latter replacing the 3.0 TDI multitronic drivetrain. Priced from $65,800, the four-cylinder A4 quattro models feature the same generous standard equipment list as the A5 Coupe and Sportback.

The entry-level $55,500 A4 1.8 TFSI multitronic model also benefits from an increase in standard equipment, with the addition of 3-zone climate control, along with a colour Driver Information System (DIS). The entry-level multitronic A5 models also gain the same additional specification.

A new range of option packages are offered for the A4 1.8 TFSI multitronic:

Technik package – $2,990

• MMI Navigation plus
• Parking system plus with rear camera

Comfort package – $2,200

• Full electric front seats
• Front seat heating
• Comfort key
• Auto dimming interior mirror

Also available for all A4 sedan models is the $1,690 Assistance Package that includes Adaptive Cruise Control and Active lane assist.

All Audi A5 3.0-litre V6 models, both TDI and TFSI, not only feature parking system plus with rear camera now as standard, but also an S line exterior package
