Audi Australia Rewards Olympic Sailing Medallist With An Audi R8

Audi Australia will reward every Australian Olympic medallist in the sailing team with an Audi R8 – to drive for a month.

The announcement was made at the Audi Hamilton Island Race Week cocktail party on Hamilton Island hosted by Audi Australia’s Managing Director, Uwe Hagen. The eight medellists of the sailing team would each drive their $270,000 plus ‘dream car’ for a month.

“As a sponsor of this great team, we are pleased to see that the entire nation is now aware of how strong our sailing team is. This is now our opportunity to officially recognise they are the best in the world,” Mr Hagen said at the event.

Gold Medallist and Audi Ambassador, Malcolm Page, who carried the Australian flag in the Closing Ceremony in London, thanked the company for its support on behalf of the athletes.
