Are you the 2013 Porsche Macan?

It is no secret that Porsche is readying a SUV to sit under the highly successful Cayenne. Various spy pictures of the new entry level model, to be called the Macan, have been caught in recent months. As the car nears production, the motoring world is starting to get abuzz with excitement about Porsche’s latest baby.

The picture you see above is purportedly the real deal, leaked by Porsche themselves – according to a Porsche lifestyle blog. Like any leaked images, you can only take it with a grain of salt, as it is almost impossible to verify its authenticity.

Comparing this image with previous spy shots, we suspect this may have been the work of a talented photoshop artist. The most telling feature is the missing fuel cap on the Macan’s hump. The LED strip also looks slightly different and lacks the individual square bulbs visible in the spy shots. The SUV in the image appears to sport a more aggressive body kit as well, which might have been engineered for the Macan Turbo, as evident from the larger wheels, bonnet bulge and tinted headlights.

Nevertheless, whether the image is genuine or otherwise, it does give a very realistic take on what the Macan will look like when it debuts at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.
