Kia has released a trio of teaser sketches of the all-new, fourth-generation 2017 Kia Rio, which is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show next month.

Sporting a decidedly more sporty and chiseled look compared to today’s model, the new car will get a longer front overhand and bonnet, longer wheelbase and upright C-pillar. Kia says the new Rio will offer buyers class-leading practicality and safety technology, the latest connectivity features and improved ride and handling.

It remains to be seen however, whether any of the design cues make it to the production model.

Kia has also released an interior sketch that shows a contemporary dash design with a large infotainment screen.

The new Kia Rio will enter production towards the end of 2016 for Europe, with the rest of the world markets, including Australia to follow. Expect the new model to reach local showrooms mid-2017, with a lineup that includes a sporty GT Line model.

The 2016 Mondial de l’Automobile opens its doors in Paris on September 29.
