All-electric Audi Q6 officially teased – arriving 2017

Audi Q6 teaser sketch

Audi has released an official teaser rendering of the company’s first all-electric SUV, the Audi Q6.

Revealed at Audi’s annual press conference, the rendering gives us a glimpse of what the brand’s BMW X6 rival could look like. Unlike its cross-town rival, the Q6 will be powered by an all-electric powerplant, likely to be based on the system used in the R8 e-tron. It will purportedly feature a 100kWh battery pack capable of 293km on a single charge. The Q6 will sit on the MLB platform that also underpins the new Q7.

According to Audi R & D head, Ulrich Hackenberg, the Q6’s design will be heavily inspired by the Prologue concept. While Audi hasn’t revealed when the car will go on sale, there are reports out of Europe that points to a 2017 debut.
