Update: The Megane Estate will launch in Australia in 2017.

The car measures 4,626mm in length, 1,449mm in height and sits on a 2,712mm wheelbase. It has a boot space of 580 litres and is said to have the longest load area in its segment at 2.8m. Its engine options are similar to that of the Megane Hatch range.

The Renault Megane Estate will make its global debut at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show in the form of the GT Line.

The booted Megane is being described as “both elegant and sporty”, and bears Renault Sport’s hallmark DNA. It is claimed to be the first C-segment estate to benefit from 4CONTROL technology, specifically tailored to the new Megane Estate. The system is said to provide the car with precise, dynamic handling on twisty roads and “genuine” driving pleasure.

Outside, the Estate gets a distinctive C-shaped lighting signature at the front and a sports front bumper with wide lower air intake flanked by two air-scoops, while the honeycomb mesh grille is specific to the car. The roof line is enhanced by matte-finish anodized aluminium roof bars (Dark Metal on the GT version). At the back, there is a sculpted diffuser and chrome finished tailpipe.

Inside, Renault says the Megane Estate has the segment’s longest maximum load length.
