Scooped! Taken fresh from an unreleased brochure, this is the facelifted 2016 Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG. Only last month, a prototype was caught by spy photographers testing on public roads.

Set to debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September this year, the revised Mercedes A 45 AMG gets restyled headlights and daytime running lights, as well as a whole new front bumper with larger intakes.

More air into the engine bay it sure needs, as the new model will reportedly have a more powerful 2.0-litre turbo four. The current unit’s 265kW of power have already earned it the title of the world’s most powerful 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, but the new mill will punch out 283kW, an increase of 13kW.

What’s more, there has been speculation that Mercedes will also release an S model which will take the figure up to 298kW, that’s 400hp or 200hp per litre of displacement!

With the upcoming Volkswagen Golf R400 speculated to also have around 298kW melting its crank, it’s no surprise Mercedes is also trying to up its game. All will be unveiled at Frankfurt.
