2016 Ford Focus RS rendered – possible debut in Detroit

2015 Ford Focus RS render

This could be the new Ford Focus RS… according to Top Speed. Rumoured to make its debut at the upcoming North American International Auto Show, the render shows how the car might look based on recent spy shots of the prototype.

Rumour also has it that the new Focus RS will pump out between 243 – 261kW (325 – 350 bhp) of power thanks to the 2.3-litre EcoBoost turbocharged four-cylinder engine inherited from the 2015 Ford Mustang. That means it’s likely to dash from 0-100km/h in less than 5 seconds.

Unlike the last two generation RS’, the new model is said to channel its power to all four wheels instead to just the fronts via a six-speed manual gearbox. Also in a break from tradition, the new car is expected as a four-door hatch only, like the ST.
