Official photos of the high performance version of the Chevrolet Corvette have surfaced online, ahead of its scheduled debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit next week.

The 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 features ultra aggressive aerodynamic bits including a revised front bumper with a front lip spoiler, side sills, rear diffuser and a prominent rear spoiler. All made from carbon fibre.

Inside, the new Z06 is decked out with carbon fibre trim insert on the dashboard, Z06 badges and a pair of paddle shifters behind the sports steering wheel.

While the standard Corvette is powered by a 6.2-litre V8 developing 343kW (460hp) and 623Nm (460lb-ft), the Z06’s monstrous 462kW (620hp) and 880Nm (650lb-ft) are likely to come from one of the following three powerplants: a naturally-aspirated 7.0-litre V8, a twin turbo V8 or a supercharged LT4 V8.
