2013 Lexus IS first official photos

These are the first photos of one of Lexus’ most important models, the all-new Lexus IS (read our review here). Set to go on sale globally this year, the bold new sedan looks stunning, especially from the front, with Lexus’ new commanding spindle grille and L-shaped Daytime Running Lights – now located independently below the headlamps.

Staying true to the LF-CC concept unveiled last year, the new car sports many of the concept’s character lines, none more obvious than in profile where it rises from the lower body to meet the rear taillights.

Inside, the elegant and classy looking cabin borrows heavily from the IS’ big brother, the Lexus GS. The centre console incorporates Lexus-first electrostatic switches to control air conditioning temperature with the touch of a finger.

With increased width and wheelbase, the new IS is also roomier inside. F-Sport models are also the first in the Lexus production range to feature the innovative driver’s meter with moving centre ring from the LF-A.

The all-new IS model range will include the IS250, IS350, F-Sport models, and for the first time in the name-plate’s history – an IS300h hybrid.
