Citroën announces pricing and specifications for funky new 2018 C3

Citroën has announced the pricing and specifications of its funky new 2018 Citroën C3, which goes on sale this month.

Brimming with exuberance and freshness, the new French hatch will also be extensively customisable to cater for individual expression.

“The new C3 has all the Citroën brand markers and all the qualities to give the brand new impetus. A comfortable car with real personality, it is set to appeal to new customers looking for a modern car of character,” said Linda Jackson, Citroën Brand CEO.

Australian models will feature black windscreen pillar and wheel arches, bi-tone roof colour with matching door mirrors, 17-inch diamond cut Cross Alloy wheels, LED 3D effect taillights and the brand’s trademark Airbumps.

Inside, all major functions are accessible from the 7” touchscreen that sits proudly on the horizontal dashboard. Customers can choose between four different mood packs addressing three different motoring outlooks.

The C3 also sees the world premiere of Citroën’s ConnectedCam, a fully-integrated and connected HD camera system that films on-the-road experiences for immediate sharing on social networks or for subsequent viewing or even as evidence in the event of an incident.

Advanced driver assistance systems include 3D-connected navigation with speech recognition, reversing camera, lane departure alert and blind spot monitoring.

Australian delivered C3’s are powered by a singular PureTech 1.2-litre turbocharged, direct-injected three-cylinder engine developing 81kW and 205Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Combined fuel economy is rated at 4.9L/100km.

There are nine body colours to choose from: Nera Black, Ruby Red, Almond Green, Soft Sand, Orange Power, Platinum Grey, Aluminium Grey, Cobalt Blue and Polar White. They are complemented by three roof colours – Opal White, Onyx Black and Sport Red – plus the possibility of monotone versions.

The 2018 Citroën C3 is priced from $22,990 plus on-road costs at launch. Options include ConnectedCam ($600) and Panoramic Sunroof ($600), Metallic Paint ($590) and Solid Paint ($290).
