JMS soups up Opel Astra GTC Sport

Can’t wait for the Opel Astra OPC hot hatch (due to arrive in April 2013)? Then Opel’s “warm hatch”, the Astra GTC Sport would have to do it for now, albeit with a bit of help from German tuning house JMS.

JMS’ latest performance package for the Astra GTC Sport includes a new front lip spoiler that can be mounted on the factory front bumper to give a lower, more aggressive stance to the sporty coupe (249€). The hot hatch transformation is finished with a set of 20-inch Schmidt Gotham Shadow Green lightweight alloy wheels (2,799€) replacing the standard 19-inch items.

In the handling department, JMS is offering a KW V1 stainless steel coilover suspension priced at 999€, lowering the Astra GTC Sport by 40mm all round.

The Opel Astra GTC Sport coupe is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol engine producing 132kW of power and 230Nm of torque. Drive is sent to the front wheels via a six-speed manual transmission. Driveaway pricing in Australia starts from $35,990 (on road).
