Alpha-N Performance tweaks BMW M4

Alpha-N Performance are offering an aggressive carbon-fibre aero package and performance upgrade kit for the BMW M4, which the tuner says are designed to highlight the sports coupe’s motorsport character.

The M4’s sleek nose can be aerodynamically enhanced with two possible styles of carbon-fibre front spoiler, both of which reduce lift over the front axle. For the real enthusiast, GT4-like dive planes can be fitted at extra cost.

At the rear, the M4 gains a carbon-fibre rear diffuser with either short or long fins and an adjustable rear wing. A smaller boot lid spoiler lip is also available for a more subtle look.

Alpha-N’s in-house EVOX multi-channel chip tuning box lifts performance of the BMW S55B30 TwinPower 3.0-litre turbo straight six engine from its already potent 321 kW (431 hp) to an impressive 388 kW (520 hp).

The German tuner claims the lower back-pressure from the stainless steel rear silencer box potentially releases another 5 hp.

Installing the complete stainless steel exhaust system pushes power output up further to 395 kW (530 hp), with torque magnified to a stump pulling 685 Nm. With its ability to calculate and optimise various engine parameters in real-time, the EVOX box mates to the OE connectors via a vehicle-specific wiring harness and makes the most of the mechanical upgrades.

To ensure that the BMW M4 is able to deploy its improved engine output, Alpha-N offers uprated wheel and tyre combinations, utilising wheels from OZ Racing or mbDESIGN. A fully adjustable coil-over kit from the race suspension manufacturer, Öhlins, will also be available from mid this year.
